Dreams. We all have them. Large or small. Long Term or Short Term. We all have dreams.
MY DREAMS… MY GOALS
The goal was to become a Full-Time agent, by building my pipeline to allow me to replace my current income and then some. Being two years into the field, I have made some great strides however, I was still struggling with my voice a bit.
It’s how you plan to achieve your dream that defines us. Myself, I have spent the better part of the last two years working my way to where I am now. Up until Jan 2019, my focus’ professionally was the full-time position I held and my trying to grow my Mortgage business.
The other issue is that I was only feeding part of my passions, I was realizing my creative side was suffering a bit so I had begun research on another revenue stream that might help me fill that void, with a little start-up.
AS IF I WASN’T BUSY ENOUGH
That is when I came across articles about starting a Virtual Assistant business. Reading the pros and cons about working for myself versus signing under an agency. Learning about the potential areas I could shine in.
So I took the plunge.I started by signing with an agency, to build my revenue stream and to gain experience, all while working full time and trying to grow my mortgage business. Cut to March 2019. I was working 20ish hours a week at VA, 40ish hours a week at my day job and my mortgage pipeline was steady for the last couple of months. Taking breaks at work to return calls. It was a mess.
So much so, my co-workers were starting to notice I was a ghost of my former self. That was when I knew I had to change.
TAKING THE PLUNGE… FIGURATIVELY and FINALLY
So, with the support of a few key people and my family, I messaged the VA agency to load up my workload. Picked up one more client on the outside of the Agency and gave notice at my 9-5. Pulled that trigger. MAN was that a hard one but boy am I glad I did.
Since my last day, I have been working a steady 20+ hours a week at my VA position/business. Learning, soaking up tips and tricks like a sponge. With all of this, I realized my true passion. My VA business was my heart and soul.
When making this jump, I didn’t think I could do it, but after a few successful clients, some issues along the way to learn from, and the support of my family, I am slowly growing stronger every day.
Now That is Stuff Dreams are made of… and I’m only just beginning.
See you on the other side of the screen,
