Right on time… the theme of my life!
Over the years, I have found moments in time that have stood out at me, when my world (I knew) was going to change.
With this in mind, I want to take a moment and tell you my “how I got started” story. I haven’t really shared much on this before but as we grow and you get to know me – I want to share more about my WHY so that you get to know the me you (may) work with.
A few years ago, I was still working full time as well as a mortgage agent but I was finding myself still feeling unfulfilled. I was drifting around the internet trying to find a way that I could quit my day job. I was looking at how I still have income until I built up my mortgage leads. My right on time moment was here. It was around then I found Tracey D’Aviero of CAVA (Canadian Association of Virtual Assistants), Abbey Ashley of The Virtual Savvy, and Micala Quinn of the Live Free Mama – all freelance gurus that were teaching moms and others how to have more freedom in your life with little start-up.
Something about this called to me in a very real way, much like the other times this feeling presented itself. So I worked hard, hustled for 6 months until I was able to replace my day-job income and go fully on my own.
What really drew me to the freelance and virtual space wasn’t just the potential on the income. (Definitely something everyone looks for!) But it also freed me up to be more flexible for my family and to truly dial into what makes me tick. What I LOVE to do.
You could call it a calling. An unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body that I had to share my passion. My right on time moment. For systems, organization, technology and service and tap into what entrepreneurship meant for me. I had no idea, at that moment, that my life would change forever. Or even more shockingly, just how much it would evolve in my life.
Now was it easy – HELL no – but has it been an adventure, definitely.
There have been some amazing lessons (both financial and educational) throughout this journey. I have met some amazing people, supporters, and clients. Not only have taught me how to be a better business owner, but also a better team member. One of the key things I have learned is you are only as good as the team you surround yourself with. Be it your family, your other team members, or even the connections you have made (in person or digital).
My next steps are to help Coaches, Course Creators & Digital Entrepreneurs with their building website dreams, organize and integrate their systems management and documentation through a Systems Assessment Offer, and packages to implement. This offer helps these businesses to create the corporate culture and processes to support it. These next months I look forward to helping businesses grow and scale differently – through the efficiency of their tech tools and linking to their website so their ideal client can find them. These projects are the culmination of my formal education, my professional experience, and my organizational brain. I’m excited to see where my business takes me next – the people I meet and the types of businesses to discover!
